FIRED UP FOR Naan Pizzas & Flatbreads

There’s truly nothing better than a wood fired pizza and flatbread but it can be quite an undertaking after a busy day (especially when you just want to kick up your feet and enjoy the Kettle)!  We’re giving you a simple recipe for achieving all the delicious flavor without all of the work. Trust us, it’s a no-brainer and it’s the perfect ace in your back pocket for pizza lovers of all ages.  

With store bought Naan Bread on hand it’s easy to whip up flatbreads for an appetizer while enjoying the fire with friends or create a wide range of pizzas for hungry kids and adults alike in less than 15 minutes.  One of our favorite discoveries - a flatbread spread with mascarpone cheese, artisan chocolate like Athen’s based Condor Chocolates and topped with fresh berries.  It’s an out-of-the-box treat you’ll have on repeat.  

We’ve shared our go-to menu below but the options are truly endless.  And, our table top and stand are the perfect spot to stage all of those ingredients within easy access to the kettle.  This is your recipe for a perfect fall weekend kettle side (picture it - movie night!) and for upping your game the next time you gather!

Our Menu

Savory

  • Margherita Pizza with Fresh Mozzarella, Chili Flakes, Pepperoni, Red Onion, Yellow Bell Pepper (add a dollop or two fresh Pesto for a fun twist!)
  • Arugula, Prosciutto and Lemon Zest Flatbread


Sweet

  • Dessert Flatbread with Mascarpone, Condor Chocolate Chips, Raspberries and Honey Drizzle

What you’ll need

  • Sea Island Forge Kettle
  • Grill Attachment
  • Heat Dome
  • Grilling Tongs
  • Grilling Spatula
  • Naan Bread
  • Fresh Mozzarella
  • Pizza Sauce - Classic Marinara or Pesto
  • Savory Pizza Toppings of Choice - we used Pepperoni, Prosciutto, Arugula, Red Onion, Yellow Bell Pepper
  • Lemon 
  • Chili Flakes
  • Olive Oil
  • Sweet Flatbread Toppings of Choice: we used Condor Chocolate Chips, mascarpone cheese, Raspberries, Honey

Step by step - Savory Pizzas

  1. Toast one side of the Naan on the Grill before adding toppings to the pizzas. 
  2. Remove, flip toasted side up, spread the Naan with sauce and top with cheese and toppings of choice.
  3. Place the Naan back on the grill, cover with the heat dome until the cheese is melted and the bottom is golden brown (about 7 minutes).

Step by Step - Flatbreads

  1. Toast both sides of the Naan on the grill.
  2. Remove and drizzle olive oil on the Naan crust.
  3. Toss the arugula in a tiny bit of olive oil, lemon zest and a splash of lemon juice and spread on the Naan crust.
  4. Top with slices of prosciutto.
