First a confession... I haven't used the kettle yet. I received it in August and I live in Florida. I ordered it so that I could have it set up and available for the wonderful weather we have coming this fall and I can't wait! It's built so well and it exceeded all of my expectations. The grill and griddle will get a lot of use and should still last a lifetime. I purchased the table top also and it looks great.
The folks at Sea Island Forge couldn't have been more helpful. They shipped it exactly when they said they would and it arrived crated to protect each and every piece. It's heavy, but then again, don't you want it to be? If you live near the coast, ask them to upgrade the finish on the stand...It's a nominal upgrade and it should resist the salt air beautifully. Hope this helps anyone thinking about this kettle... It's an investment and one worth making for your family!
