Apple and Gouda Grilled Cheese, sizzling over open fire on a flat top griddle
Ingredients
- 1 loaf sliced sourdough bread
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 Honeycrisp Apple
- 1 pack gouda cheese
- 1 container baby arugula
Directions
Heat flat top Griddle to medium high heat.
Slice the apple into thin slices with no seeds, reserve.
Place 4 slices of bread mayo-side down on the griddle. Put a slice of gouda on the bread, then line that with sliced apple in a single layer. Top that with arugula, then another slice of gouda. Finally place another slice of sourdough mayo side up.
Flip each sandwich over so the top mayo side is now down and on the griddle. Cover with a heat dome if applicable. Cook for 2 minutes or until finished browning and melting. Remove sandwich from heat and place on cutting board. Cut it in half diagonally and watch that cheese put on a magic show.
