Paella, open fire and one big pan
Katie Button was born in the South, raised in the North and trained in Europe, including time at elBulli. In 2011 she opened Cúrate Bar de Tapas in Asheville, and
in 2022 it won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Hospitality. When she started cooking on the Fire Kettle at home in 2020, she saw straight away what it could do for paella. The lift lever gave her the control a paella needs, from a hard sear to a steady simmer, and our team at the forge got to work alongside her.
Prototype after prototype, she cooked on it, pushed it and told us exactly what it needed, until every detail worked the way a chef needs it to. The Paella Pan & Rig that came out of those sessions now sits in backyards across the country.
It's how we build all of our pro kit: directly with the chefs who test it, push it and tell us honestly what it needs.
